Kit Pricing 2026

Kit pricing: Free, Creator, and Pro.

Kit's pricing model is unusually generous in one area: email sends are currently unlimited across all plans. The main pricing variables are subscriber count and which automation, reporting, collaboration, and growth features the business actually needs.

Kit's pricing model

Subscriber count drives the bill more than sending volume.

Kit says billing is based on active subscribers rather than the number of emails sent or the number of features used within the selected plan. Paid-plan pricing scales upward as subscriber count grows.

Active subscribers Kit bases billing on the active subscriber population in the account.
Unique subscribers Kit's pricing page describes subscriber counting as unique and active rather than list-by-list duplication.
Unlimited sends Kit currently says all plans can send unlimited emails without a normal monthly send cap.
Subscriber tiers Paid pricing rises as the active subscriber count moves through larger billing tiers.
Automatic upward movement If the account exceeds its subscriber tier, Kit moves it to the next tier automatically.
Manual downward movement If the subscriber count falls enough for a cheaper tier, Kit says the account owner must select the lower tier in billing settings.
Important economic difference: with Kit, frequent sending does not automatically create a higher email-send bill. Subscriber growth is the more direct pricing driver.
Current Kit plans

Free, Creator, and Pro solve different stages of the workflow.

Paid prices below use the current 1,000-subscriber tier. Higher subscriber counts cost more, so exact pricing should be rechecked before purchase.

Why Kit's Free plan is unusual

The subscriber ceiling is high, but the automation ceiling matters more.

A 10,000-subscriber free ceiling can look dramatically more generous than many competing free plans. But subscriber count alone does not determine whether Free can run the business's intended workflow.

Strong for broadcasting Free supports unlimited broadcast email, making it viable for a simple newsletter model.
Strong for list growth Unlimited forms and landing pages allow multiple acquisition points without requiring a paid plan.
Segmentation included Tags and segments are available without immediately forcing an upgrade.
Automation is the boundary Creating sequences, visual automations, rules, and RSS campaigns requires Creator or Pro.
Selling is included Kit allows digital products and subscriptions within the Free plan's current feature set.
Growth can remain free longer A newsletter that primarily broadcasts may stay on Free much longer than an automation-heavy business.
Do not read “10,000 subscribers free” as “everything is free until 10,000.” Workflow requirements can force an upgrade long before the subscriber ceiling becomes relevant.
The Creator upgrade

Creator is where Kit becomes a full automation platform.

The biggest practical difference between Free and Creator is not email volume. It is the ability to create repeatable automated journeys rather than relying primarily on broadcasts.

Welcome sequences Creator supports automated email sequences for onboarding and recurring follow-up.
Visual Automations Subscribers can move through automated paths based on defined triggers and conditions.
Automation Rules Events can trigger actions without manually moving each subscriber.
Link Triggers Clicking particular links can become a useful automation or classification signal.
RSS campaigns Paid plans can support RSS-based email workflows where that operating model is useful.
Two users Creator supports a small operator or two-person account-management setup before Pro's collaboration features become relevant.
For many businesses, Creator is the real comparison price. If automated welcome, nurture, fulfillment, or behavioral workflows are requirements, the $0 Free price no longer represents the usable plan.
The Pro upgrade

Pro is primarily an analytics, audience-intelligence, and collaboration upgrade.

Creator already contains the core automation system. Pro becomes more relevant when the business needs deeper analysis, larger-team access, experimentation, or advanced subscriber intelligence.

Engagement analytics Adds deeper visibility into how different audiences interact with email.
Deliverability reporting Adds reporting intended to provide more visibility into delivery-related performance.
Engagement scoring Subscribers can be classified using additional engagement-oriented signals.
Content A/B testing Pro expands experimentation beyond basic subject-line testing.
Unlimited users Pro removes Creator's small-team user limit for larger collaborative operations.
Referral and growth tools Pro adds newsletter referral and other growth-oriented capabilities.
Pro is not required merely because you use automation. Creator already provides the core sequence and Visual Automation system. Upgrade when Pro-specific capabilities solve a real operating problem.
Subscriber billing

Kit's database model can simplify one common pricing problem.

Kit describes itself as subscriber-centric rather than list-centric. Its current pricing page says subscribers are counted when they are unique and active.

Active subscriber count Billing follows the active subscriber population instead of email volume.
Tags do not create another subscriber Using tags or segments to organize one subscriber does not inherently create separate audience copies.
Growth changes tier When subscriber growth exceeds the purchased tier, Kit automatically moves the account upward.
Cleanup can reduce cost Removing subscribers who should no longer remain active may make a lower billing tier available.
Downgrades require action Kit says qualifying for a lower tier does not automatically lower the account's price; the account owner selects the lower tier.
Audience structure still matters Clean tagging and segmentation remain important for automation and operations even when they do not create separate send charges.
Unlimited email sends

Kit does not currently price normal plans by monthly email volume.

Kit's current pricing FAQ says there are no sending limits on any of its plans. That can materially change the economics for publishers who email frequently.

Frequent newsletters A higher publishing cadence does not automatically push the account into a larger send package.
Automated sequences Paid plans can run sequences without a normal monthly email-send multiplier tied to subscriber count.
Cost forecasting Subscriber growth becomes easier to isolate as the principal recurring pricing variable.
Unlimited sending does not mean unrestricted sending behavior. Provider policies, permission standards, abuse controls, and normal responsible-sending requirements still apply.
Monthly vs annual billing

Annual billing currently provides roughly two months free.

Creator · 1,000 subscribers

Monthly

$39/mo

More flexible commitment, with the higher month-to-month rate.

Creator · 1,000 subscribers

Annual

$390/year $33/mo effective

Lower effective monthly cost when the business is comfortable making a longer commitment.

Pro · 1,000 subscribers

Monthly

$79/mo

Preserves greater switching flexibility while paying the standard monthly rate.

Standard Pro annual pricing is currently $790/year, equivalent to roughly $66/month. Kit may display temporary promotions, but StackEvidence uses the standard recurring price for comparison rather than treating a short-term discount as the permanent plan cost.
Paid-plan trial

Creator and Pro currently include a 14-day trial.

Kit says paid-plan trials can be started without a credit card. This makes the trial useful for validating the interface and required workflows before committing to the paid subscription.

14 days The current trial period applies to Creator and Pro.
No card required Kit currently says a payment card is not required to begin the trial.
Free remains available A user who does not need the paid tier can continue on the Free plan after evaluating the paid experience.
Calculate real Kit cost

Work backward from subscriber growth and required workflow.

1
Audience Estimate active subscribers now and over the next operating period.
2
Workflow Decide whether broadcasts alone are enough or automation is required.
3
Analytics Determine whether Creator reporting is enough or Pro-specific insight is necessary.
4
Team Account for the number of people who need access and collaboration tools.
5
Term Compare annual savings with the value of monthly flexibility.
The practical upgrade path is usually feature-led first, subscriber-led second. A small list can require Creator because of automation, while a much larger broadcast-only newsletter may remain on Free.
Which Kit plan fits which operating model?

Start with the job the software must perform.

Free Strongest fit when the main job is audience capture plus broadcast newsletter publishing without required automated sequences.
Creator Stronger fit when welcome, nurture, fulfillment, behavioral routing, or other recurring automated workflows become necessary.
Pro Stronger fit when advanced reporting, engagement intelligence, experimentation, referrals, or larger-team collaboration justify the added cost.
StackEvidence context

Kit's attractive pricing does not eliminate the need to evaluate policy and workflow fit.

Price is one part of our email-platform research. We also consider automation, audience structure, policy fit, migration, hands-on evidence, and whether the platform permits the business's intended communication model.

Evidence standard

Kit pricing is a dated snapshot, not a permanent promise.

StackEvidence refreshed Kit's current pricing page and official help documentation for this article in October 2026. Subscriber tiers, plan prices, features, trials, promotions, and billing rules can change and should be checked again before purchase.
