ActiveCampaign Pricing 2026

ActiveCampaign pricing: plans, contacts, and send limits.

ActiveCampaign starts at a relatively simple headline price, but real cost depends on four things working together: your contact limit, plan tier, monthly email volume, and the automation or segmentation capability you actually need.

The pricing model

ActiveCampaign pricing is not just four plan prices.

The plan determines capability. The contact limit determines the size of the database the account is priced to support. Monthly marketing sends are tied to that contact limit, and some add-ons can increase total account cost further.

Plan tier Controls automation depth, segmentation, reporting, users, integrations, and other capability.
Contact limit Determines how many contacts the account is configured to hold within its purchased allowance.
Send allowance Monthly marketing-email capacity is calculated as a multiple of the account's contact limit.
Billing term ActiveCampaign displays discounted annual pricing while monthly billing provides a different commitment structure.
Add-ons SMS, transactional email, enhanced CRM, custom reporting, and other optional capabilities can add cost.
Growth Contact growth can change both the subscription price and the number of emails available each month.
The useful comparison is the cost of the plan you can actually operate. A $15 entry point matters only if Starter supports the workflow you need.

Entry plan

Starter

$15/mo starting price · billed annually

Starter is the lower-cost entry into ActiveCampaign's email marketing and automation system, but automation and segmentation are deliberately constrained.

Email marketing and marketing automation
10× contact-limit monthly marketing sends
5 actions per automation
Limited segmentation
1 included user
Up to 5 email marketing lists
Standard CRM and ecommerce integrations
Maximum 25,000 contacts on Starter
Primary upgrade trigger: automation depth, segmentation requirements, landing pages, or growth beyond Starter's contact ceiling.
Advanced automation

Plus

$49/mo starting price · billed annually

Plus removes Starter's five-action automation limit and adds more flexible segmentation and landing-page capability.

Everything required for normal email marketing
10× contact-limit monthly marketing sends
Unlimited automation actions
Standard segmentation
Landing pages
1 included user
Ability to purchase additional users
Access to additional add-on options
Why it matters: Plus is the first plan where automation structure becomes much less constrained by action count.
Enhanced orchestration

Pro

$79/mo starting price · billed annually

Pro moves beyond general automation into deeper segmentation, testing, personalization, attribution, and predictive capability.

12× contact-limit monthly marketing sends
Unlimited automation actions
Advanced segmentation
3 included users
Conditional content
Predictive sending
Campaign and automation A/B testing
Attribution and conversion tracking
Primary upgrade trigger: advanced orchestration, deeper reporting, optimization, or multi-user operational requirements.
Scale, security & support

Enterprise

$145/mo starting price · billed annually

Enterprise adds security, reporting, integration, support, and governance capabilities aimed at larger or more demanding organizations.

15× contact-limit monthly marketing sends
Unlimited automation actions
Premium segmentation
5 included users
Custom reporting
Single sign-on
Premium CRM integrations
Dedicated account team
Primary upgrade trigger: enterprise security, governance, reporting, integrations, and dedicated support rather than email sending alone.

Contact counting

For new ActiveCampaign accounts, inactive status does not necessarily remove a contact from the billable limit.

ActiveCampaign changed its contact-counting model for accounts created beginning November 3, 2025. That makes account creation date important when interpreting older articles or customer experiences.

Accounts created on or after November 3, 2025 All contacts count toward the account contact limit regardless of list status.
Accounts created on or before November 2, 2025 ActiveCampaign's current help documentation says only active contacts count toward the contact limit.
Current buyers A new account opened today should be evaluated using the newer all-contacts counting rule.
This is a major pricing detail. An old ActiveCampaign review that says unsubscribed or inactive contacts do not count may describe a legacy account rather than the billing model a new customer receives today.
What happens at the contact limit?

Reaching the contact limit is more than a billing notification.

ActiveCampaign's current documentation describes operational consequences when an account reaches its purchased contact capacity.

Campaign sending can stop. ActiveCampaign says campaigns cannot send while the account remains at or above its contact limit.
Automation emails can be skipped. Automations may continue moving contacts through steps while “Send an email” actions are skipped.
Contacts can still enter by some methods. Forms and APIs can continue adding contacts, which means the operational problem can grow if nobody responds to the limit.
Auto-upgrade is optional, not automatic by default. ActiveCampaign provides an automatic contact-limit upgrade setting, but the account must enable it if that behavior is desired.
Monthly email sends

Contact capacity and send capacity are related but separate limits.

ActiveCampaign bases monthly marketing-email capacity on a multiple of the purchased contact limit.

Starter & Plus

10× contact limit

A purchased contact allowance of 1,000 corresponds to a 10,000-marketing-email monthly send allowance under the standard multiplier.

Example: 1,000 contact limit × 10 = 10,000 monthly marketing sends.
Pro

12× contact limit

Pro provides a larger send multiple than Starter and Plus.

Example: 1,000 contact limit × 12 = 12,000 monthly marketing sends.
Enterprise

15× contact limit

Enterprise currently carries the highest standard email-send multiplier among the four Email plans.

Example: 1,000 contact limit × 15 = 15,000 monthly marketing sends.
Trial

100 total email sends

The 14-day trial is an evaluation environment, not a free production plan. ActiveCampaign currently limits trial sending to 100 emails.

Trial context: trial capability broadly follows Professional-plan features, but the send allowance is intentionally small.
Send-limit overages

Exceeding the send allowance and exceeding the contact limit have different consequences.

Send allowance exceeded ActiveCampaign currently says service is not interrupted solely because the monthly send limit is exceeded.
Overage charge The vendor says an overage fee is charged for the month when the send allowance is exceeded.
Limit can be increased Accounts can purchase a higher monthly email-send limit when additional capacity is required.
Do not confuse these two limits: exceeding the email-send allowance can create an overage charge, while reaching the contact limit can stop campaign sends and skip automation email steps.
Automation is a pricing gate

The important jump is not simply Starter to Plus pricing — it is constrained to less-constrained automation.

Starter already includes marketing automation, but ActiveCampaign limits each automation to five actions. Plus and higher plans remove that action-count restriction.

Starter Suitable when the required workflows remain within five actions per automation and limited segmentation is sufficient.
Plus Becomes materially more relevant when workflows require additional actions or more flexible segmentation.
Pro Adds advanced segmentation, conditional content, predictive sending, attribution, and deeper optimization.
Price the workflow before choosing the plan. If your required automation needs six or more actions, evaluating ActiveCampaign only from the Starter price understates the usable cost.
Users & collaboration

Team size can become another upgrade variable.

Starter 1 included user. ActiveCampaign's current plan documentation says one additional seat can be purchased.
Plus 1 included user with the ability to purchase additional seats.
Pro 3 included users plus the ability to purchase additional seats.
Enterprise 5 included users plus additional-seat options.
Permissions Higher-level team requirements can make user permissions and governance as important as raw seat count.
Account economics A team should price its required seats rather than assuming the displayed plan price covers every operator.
Add-on costs

Some capabilities sit outside the base Email subscription.

ActiveCampaign currently sells several optional capabilities in addition to the base plan. Availability can depend on plan tier.

Transactional Email Available as an add-on across Starter, Plus, Pro, and Enterprise and powered through Postmark.
SMS Available as an add-on beginning with Plus under the current plan structure.
Custom Reporting Available as an add-on on Plus and Pro and included with Enterprise.
Enhanced CRM Pipeline and sales-engagement capabilities can be added on eligible higher tiers.
Additional users Additional seats can create incremental cost where the included user allocation is insufficient.
Additional sends Monthly marketing-send capacity can be increased beyond the standard included allowance.
An all-in-one platform can still have modular pricing. Compare the combination you would actually deploy, not only the base subscription shown at the top of the pricing page.
Annual vs monthly billing

The current headline prices are annual-billing prices.

ActiveCampaign describes annual plans as a discounted commitment billed as a single yearly payment. That changes both cash flow and switching flexibility.

Annual advantage Lower effective monthly pricing when the business already expects to remain on the platform.
Annual tradeoff More money is committed upfront and the business has less flexibility if its needs change.
Migration consideration Renewal dates matter when timing a switch because unnecessary subscription overlap can increase migration cost.
Calculate real ActiveCampaign cost

Use the workflow and database you expect to operate — not today's smallest possible account.

1
Contacts Estimate the contact limit required over the next operating period.
2
Sends Estimate campaigns plus automated marketing messages.
3
Automation Count how complex the required workflows actually are.
4
Extras Include seats, SMS, CRM, transactional email, or reporting if needed.
5
Commitment Compare annual savings with the value of monthly flexibility.
The correct plan is the lowest tier that passes every required gate. Paying for unused sophistication wastes money; choosing a plan below the required workflow creates operating friction.
How the plans differ in practice

Think of the tiers as different operating envelopes.

Starter Best examined by businesses with straightforward email campaigns and relatively compact automation requirements.
Plus The natural comparison point when five-action automation limits or limited segmentation become restrictive.
Pro More relevant when optimization, predictive capability, advanced segmentation, attribution, or multi-user work becomes important.
Enterprise More about governance, security, premium integrations, custom reporting, scale, and service requirements.
Trial Useful for testing the system before paying, but not a permanent free production plan.
Policy fit Pricing still does not matter if the intended business activity conflicts with the provider's current policies.
StackEvidence context

Pricing is one reason ActiveCampaign remains an important comparison platform — but not the only reason.

Our broader email-platform research also considers automation, segmentation, policy fit, migration, support, and hands-on evidence. A pricing page should not be treated as a complete review.
